It has been years since we have not prescribed a uniform for AGL.
May I suggest that we adopt the US Woodland and A.L.I.C.E. as the Uniform.
The good thing about it is that it is readily available. A number of the players already have it. Not to mention the fact that Cons won an award in Robin Sage for authenticity and it being a classic according to the squad leader.
The League was founded around that time.
What do you guys think?

Then he's still WRONG. There wasn't ALICE gear during Vietnam. In Vietnam the name of the gear was called LINCLOE or LCE. ALICE was not introduced until 1972, the end of the Vietnam conflict.
If I was going to reference older equipment to say it's better than modern ones, I would do it in the correct era its in.

By the way, AGL already decided on its official uniform:
MALUNGGAY camo.

Pat,
Can you post pictures of the malungay camo?
We definitely need the reference. |

Rolly I was just kidding!
Was talking about the 90's Phil Marines camouflage pattern. I couldn't find any reference pics online... |

Come to think of it, the early AFP "Brush-stroke" and Marine "Worm" patterns would be nice.

Rolly, look at the old pics that James posted. I thought I saw someone in one of the pics is wearing the malunggay camo.

Wearing the local uniform would be nice, it gives some sense of nationalism. However, is the Philippine camoflage pattern effective? Countries like the US actually does studies on camoflage effectiveness which I doubt is done in the AFP. Then there's the issue of impersonation which seems to be a bad habit of Pinoys and isnt that the reason why local uniforms are not (technically) for sale to civilians? |

| Abs, that camo bears a striking resemblance to the Rhodesian red camoflage. Rolly, Jojo and Chris 'Nuno' Fernandez used to wear that uniform... |

I've said this before but it bears repeating:
What is more important is the AGL patch easily seen and PROUDLY displayed. |

With the exception of the "new" Phil. Army digital camo, I've not seen any pattern that really works. I posted the above photo just for reference and fun. Hehehe
Seriously, you're right about the issues why wearing "organic" uniforms is prohibited. Actually, anything that resembles a "combat" uniform is also part of the prohibition regardless whether it's a PMC or security guard look. |

Ay susme! So if someone happens to like the 'tacticool' look (albeit it makes the person 'trying-hard') and wants to roll around the mall wearing cargo pants, desert boots, maxpedition sling bag + ball cap that becomes prohibitted wear? Is the Philippines becoming a communist state? I'm sure if its the the 'anak-ni-kung sino man' that person is untouchable but the less-than-ordinary man would be given a hard time.
Maybe the Philippine government should mandate to its citizens a uniform as daily wear. |
