I've seen pics of the digital AFP uniform and I think its just horrible. Case of gaya-gaya?

Seriously, you're right about the issues why wearing "organic" uniforms is prohibited. Actually, anything that resembles a "combat" uniform is also part of the prohibition regardless whether it's a PMC or security guard look.
Ay susme! So if someone happens to like the 'tacticool' look (albeit it makes the person 'trying-hard') and wants to roll around the mall wearing cargo pants, desert boots, maxpedition sling bag + ball cap that becomes prohibitted wear? Is the Philippines becoming a communist state? I'm sure if its the the 'anak-ni-kung sino man' that person is untouchable but the less-than-ordinary man would be given a hard time.
Maybe the Philippine government should mandate to its citizens a uniform as daily wear.
well apparently the authorities over here are becoming paranoid... hahaha.. to be exact with what are they doing they are becoming to be a socialist state... which i really hate (imho)...

I guess it's a little more complicated than that. You can catch me wearing desert boots and a "Max" bag on a daily basis too. I've always been mistaken for an "organic" member of either LE or military! One time going into a bank, the guard insisted that I was carrying a firearm and requested me to deposit it!
The tactical look has somehow been the preferred costume of some unscrupulous elements and it's really a case of "perception". If you are "perceived" to be something, then the common folk assume that "You Are!"
But going back to topic:
I do agree that THE PATCH IS THE UNIFORM! It's not something that can be bought at the local surplus store or supply shop and we sure as hell worked to earn it!
On the woodland/M81-ALICE: I like the uniform personally and yes, it's really practical in these tropical climes. My take is that we adopt it as an "informal" uniform when appearing in events provided THE PATCH is prominently displayed.
