Hi, Sir James! I was going to ask nga why you didn't go to Cambodia since you were already in Vietnam. Asians are given automatic 21 days visa in Vietnam. Then you can cross the border to Cambodia, supposedly without any problems. They'll process everything in the border, no need for pre-application. I used that route and my friends who visited did the same.
I was in Siem Reap with a friend who visited from Vietnam during Tet. Sayang! Hehehe!
They serve all kinds of lizards and snakes. Yuk. China, Hong Kong and likewise here in Taiwan serve snakes in the same manner.
I was disappointed as I wanted to visit "Hanoi Hilton" but because of wrong timing, all gov't offices including the museums were closed for the duration of our stay there because of their Tet Holidays.
We were supposed to go to Siem Reap Angkor Wat, Cambodia but visas are needed. So we changed direction and went to North Vietnam instead as visas are not required for Filipinos who will not stay for more than 60 days. Maybe to Cambodia next trip when we have more time to get a visa.

My mistake was not calling you first. But it's complicated since my wife is using a Taiwanese passport and all. We just settled for the least troublesome tour since she only has 5 days of break and we're out of time. hehe
